Small little tourest town that you can walk around in a couple of hours. Be sure to stop by and watch the men carve totem poles in the high school garage. Many eagles nesting in town. Icy Strait has a couple of bars. And some fishing happens here.v Our cruise ship stopped here. The nature is nice but there's really not much to do here unless you have an excursion booked. Near the dock there's a bar, a few private homes, the cannery museum and gift ship. There's a jewelry shop as well that seems so out of place as if it was in the middle of the desert. Not sure why the cruise company took us here as it seems like a tourist trap. Beautiful boat ride over from Juneau, saw humpback whales bubble feeding. Welcomed by Tlinget dancers. Interesting fish canning museum. World's longest zip line, fast and fun! Would do it again. Hands down the best port of call on our 14 day Alaska cruise. A whale watchers delight too with a pod of whales frolicking 100 yards offshore for more than an hour. If you find a cruise that stops at Icy Straight Point, take it! Cruise ships stop here, if you take an excursion away from the zip line you will have a better time. If you like zip lines, they have an awesome zip line. Not my thing so I rated the stop a bit lower.
